East Mt. Airy Back Yard Living Space

Referred to us from a previous client, these young homeowners contacted us shortly after they moved into their beautiful new construction home in East Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. The house had some basic builder landscaping along the front foundation, but the back yard was a blank slate. After finishing the front yard curb appeal improvements, we turned our attention to the rear. The client had received a quote and plan from another landscape design firm, but wanted another approach. Flower Powered drew up our signature landscape design rendering, outlining a vision for a beautiful and functional entertaining space, along with a planting scheme. The design plan included a paver patio off the rear deck, a central garden, visible from the deck and patio, landscape lighting and beautiful seasonal plants surrounding the perimeter. We also proposed a two-phase installation that would provide immediate impact while meeting their budget.

For Phase one, we installed all of the perimeter gardens including a stunning central garden visible from the rear deck and inside windows. Phase two included construction of a paver patio off the rear deck and side yard improvements that create an impactful entranceway. The patio provided space for a grill, and additional seating around a fire pit. Low voltage landscape spotlights were also installed for evening entertainment and to up light the feature trees, including a Magnolia, Redbud, Hornbeams and a Betula nigra River Birch.
